iPhone 2.2 Firmware has been Released by Apple
Apple has released the iPhone 2.2 firmware in the middle of the night. introducing features such as remote podcast downloading and Google Street View.
In the past, to get podcasts on iPhones, users had to download them onto iTunes on their computers and to sync the files user need to connect the handset with computer. For now, remote podcast downloading enables users to download audio and video podcasts onto their iPhones with the iTunes application over a wireless connection.

The update contains include : Enhancements to Maps (Google Street View, display address of dropped pins, public transit and walking diretions, share location via email), Enhancements to Mail (resolved isolated issues with scheduled fetching of email, improved formatting of wide HTML email) Improved stability and performance of Safari, Decrease in call set-up failures and call drops ,Improved sound quality of visual voicemail messages ,Pressing the Home button from any Home screen takes you to the first Home screen, Preferences to turn on/off auto-correction in Keyboard settings.
The most visual improvement in the iPhone 2.2 software is the Google Maps application. Like i say on the update contains, with Google Maps application you now get Google Street View, Public transit and walking directions, Display address of dropped pins and Share location via email.
