By default rrdtool is not included in CentOS. You may need to install it for monitoring purpose. You can either use source to compile or install using rpm. But as I know CentOS 5 does not come with a repository that holds valid redhat style rpm’s for rrdtool. RRDTOOL is required by many network utilities, e.g cacti, nagios & many others to plot graphs.

So here is how we fix that and To install using rpm all you need is following two commands.

For Centos 5

rpm -ivh http://apt.sw.be/redhat/el5/en/i386/rpmforge/RPMS/rpmforge-release-0.5.2-2.el5.rf.i386.rpm
yum install rrdtool -y

For Centos 6

rpm -ivh http://apt.sw.be/redhat/el6/en/i386/rpmforge/RPMS/rpmforge-release-0.5.2-2.el6.rf.i686.rpm
yum install rrdtool -y

once sucessfully installed, you’ll find rrdtool in /usr/bin/

X-Lite is a VOiP application made by http://www.counterpath.com/
it allows configuration via SIP protocol.

Download the application and then
# tar -zxvf X-Lite_Install.tar.gz
# cd xten-xlite
# chmod +x xtensoftphone
#./xtensoftphone

It will give an error:

./xtensoftphone: error while loading shared libraries: libstdc++.so.5: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

It requires the libstdc++.so.5 so install it via apt:
# apt-get install libstdc++5
# apt-get install alsa-oss

but I must say that this runs on Ubuntu 8.10 hardy.
Meanwhile, when I use Ubuntu LTS 10.04.2, can not function when an error occurs

sudo apt-get install libstdc + +. so.5
[sudo] password for zullfree:
Reading package lists … Done
Building dependency tree
Reading state information … Done
E: Couldn’t find package libstdc + +. so.5

So I try to look for other alternatives SIPPhone software and I found QuteCom.
The install is easy as it’s part of the Ubuntu Community Software (Universe) and that means it can be installed via apt-get, Software Center or Synaptic.

Qutecom configuration

The QuteCom interface seems quite workable as well as having a number of other instant messaging options available.

Here is a tip to install freeradius server where it was a copy paste from the site http://freeradius.org/radiusd/INSTALL. And this one I use as a reference when I do install this radius server. The steps are :

1. INSTALLATION

Ignore this file if you have a pre-installed binary package.

1a. SIMPLE INSTALLATION

If you do not need to modify the default configuration, then take
the following steps to build and install the server:

$ ./configure
$ make
$ make install

Note that as of 1.0.0, the location of the dictionary files has
changed, to /usr/local/share/freeradius/dictionary.  Please ensure
that /etc/raddb/dictionary is THE SAME as ./raddb/dictionary. If not,
you will have to copy it over by hand;

$ cp ./raddb/dictionary /etc/raddb/dictionary

If you see errors like ‘invalid keyword “ATTRIB_NMC”‘, then you
should update the main dictionary file as described above.

Once the main dictionary file has been updated, and the server has
been verified to work, all of the other (old) dictionary files in
/etc/raddb may be deleted.

1b. CUSTOM INSTALLATION

FreeRADIUS has autoconf support. This means you have to run
./configure, and then run make. To see which configuration options
are supported, run ‘./configure –help’, and read it’s output. The
following list is a selection from the available flags:

–enable-shared[=PKGS]  build shared libraries [default=yes]
–enable-static[=PKGS]  build static libraries [default=yes]
–enable-fast-install[=PKGS] optimize for fast installation [default=yes]
–with-logdir=DIR       Directory for logfiles [LOCALSTATEDIR/log]
–with-radacctdir=PATH Directory for detail files [LOGDIR/radacct]
–with-raddbdir=DIR Directory for config files [SYSCONFDIR/raddb]
–with-threads Use threads, if available. (default=yes)
–with-snmp Compile in SNMP support. (default=yes)
–disable-ltdl-install  Do not install libltdl
–with-experimental-modules Use experimental and unstable modules. (default=no)
–enable-developer      Turns on super-duper-extra-compile-warnings
when using gcc.
–with-edir Compile with support for Novell eDirectory
integration.

Now type “make”. The binaries will be compiled.

Then do “make install”. That will install the binaries, the ‘man’
pages, and MAY install the configuration files. If you have not
installed a RADIUS server before, then the configuration files for
FreeRADIUS will be installed. If you already have a RADIUS server
installed, then FreeRADIUS WILL NOT over-write your current
configuration. It will warn you about the files it could not install.

If you DO see a warning message about files that could not be
installed, then you should manually ‘diff’ the files. There MAY be
changes in the dictionary files which are REQUIRED for a new version
of the software. These files will NOT be installed over your current
configuration, so you MUST verify and install any problem files by
hand.

It is EXTREMELY helpful to read the output of both ‘configure’,
‘make’, and ‘make install’. If a particular module you expected to be
installed was NOT installed, then the output of the
‘configure;make;make install’ sequence will tell you why that module
was not installed. Please do NOT post questions to the FreeRADIUS
users list without carefully reading the output of this process.

2. RUNNING THE SERVER

If the server builds and installs, but doesn’t run correctly, then
you may use debugging mode to figure out the problem.

This is your BEST HOPE for understanding the problem. Read ALL of
the messages which are printed to the screen, the answer to your
problem will often be in a warning or error message.

We really can’t emphasize that last sentence enough. Configuring a
RADIUS server for complex local authentication isn’t a trivial task.
Your ONLY method for debugging it is to read the debug messages, where
the server will tell you exactly what it’s doing, and why. You should
then compare its behaviour to what you intended, and edit the
configuration files as appropriate.

If you don’t use debugging mode, then you will look dumb when you
ask questions on the ‘freeradius-users’ list, and the answer to your
question was contained in the debug messages you posted to the list.

Since the main developers of FreeRADIUS use debugging mode to track
down their configuration problems with the server, it’s a good idea
for you to use it, too. If you don’t, there is little hope for you to
solve ANY configuration problem related to the server.

To start the server in debugging mode, do:

$ radiusd -X

You should see a lot of text printed on the screen as it starts up.
If you don’t, or if you see error messages, please read the FAQ:

http://www.freeradius.org/faq/

If the server says “Ready to process requests.”, then it is running
properly. From another shell (or another window), type:

$ radtest test test localhost 0 testing123

You should see the server print out more messages as it receives the
request, and responds to it. The ‘radtest’ program should receive the
response within a few seconds. It doesn’t matter if the
authentication request is accepted or rejected, what matters is that
the server received the request, and responded to it.

You can now edit the ‘radiusd.conf’ file for your local system.
Please read the ENTIRE file carefully, as many configuration options
are only documented in comments in the file.

Configuring and running the server MAY be complicated. Please read
the documentation in the doc/ directory for further information. If
you have any issues, the FAQ is also a good place to check.

sqstat is an application that functions to monitor squid in real time so that we can see directly how much IP is being downloaded and so forth. And sqstat is an application made by Alex Samorukov. To install sqstat into our system, then follow the steps below:

1. Download package

Download the package sqstat from samm.kiev.ua.

2. Extract Packs

# Gunzip-1.20.tar.gz sqstat
# Tar-xvf sqstat-1.20.tar

3. Move Folder to a webserver

Sqstat-1:20 # mv /var/www/html/: cd/var/www/html

4. Changing Names

# mv sqstat-1.20 sqstat

5. Configuration sqstat

# Cd sqstat
# Cp config.inc.php config.inc.php.defaults
# Vi config.inc.php

In the config.inc.php file, change the IP address & port of squid to the IP Address & port squid ours. For example, as an example:

/* Squid proxy server ip address or host name */
$squidhost[0]=”192.168.0.250″;  /* Squid proxy server port */
$squidport[0]=3128;

After that we will change the file squid.conf

# vi /etc/squid/squid.conf

In the file, add the following script:

acl manager proto cache_object
acl webserver src 192.168.0.250/255.255.255.255
http_access allow manager webserver
http_access deny manager

6. Restart Webserver

# service httpd restart

7. Test sqstat
Open the browser and then type:

http://ip_address/sqstat

Then there will be display as follows:

Change Auto refresh from a value of 0 to 5 for this application can be refreshed every 5 seconds and press the Update button.

6. Troubleshooting
Generally what happens is an error during testing sqstat in a browser that is no error statement:

SqStat error
Error (1): Cannot get data. Server answered: HTTP/1.0 403 Forbidden

This may happen because we are wrong to place the script: http_access deny manager in squid.conf file. Put the script at the bottom section on the item http_access.

If no display image as above, but just a list it in your browser, then type:

# mv sqstat.php index.php

At first glance both products are no different from most other anti-virus. Users will be offered a number of functions ranging from prevention of malware protection, parental controls, and more.

However, if traced further, there are some differences which claimed Trend Micro is not found in other products. As with the introduction of types of threats in circulation.

With the new malware is about 1.5 per second, Trend Micro offers nonstop updates reputation in cloud computing. System where the introduction of the latest threats cloud-based, trusted by Trend Micro as the perfect solution for users stay safe as it is very actual. In addition, users also do not mess around anymore with hard disk capacity continues to undermined the conventional anti-virus applications.

In addition to these modes, other factors that this product is claimed to be better than its competitors is a small computer resource usage. Yes, Trend Micro claims this product can adjust the power requirements are available.

For example, when users are playing games that are usually ‘eat’ all the power PCs. So anti-virus automatically this will reduce their activities, whether it updates the database, or even scanning files.

“Trend Micro Titanium is more intelligent. It can adapt itself to the conditions of computer usage,”
